Candidate forums set for Tri-Valley races

Candidate forums for Tri-Valley elections in November will start next week.

Pleasanton and Dublin are holding both mayoral and City Council races. Both cities are also holding school board races, as is Livermore.

In each forum, candidates will state their positions, answer questions presented by a moderator and answer questions from the audience. The forums are sponsored by the Livermore-Amador Valley League of Women Voters and will be broadcast later on cable Channel 26.

The first forum, for the Dublin mayoral and City Council races, will be Thursday. The event begins at 7 p.m. for City Council candidates and 8 p.m. for mayoral candidates. It will be held in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 100 Civic Plaza.

Besides the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Women and the Dublin-San Ramon Women's Club are helping put on the Dublin events.

The three groups are also involved in a forum planned for Sept. 24 for the Dublin school board race. The forum will start at 7 p.m. in the board meeting room at the school district offices, 7471 Larkdale Ave.

On Sept. 29, a forum will be held for Livermore school board candidates. It will start at 7 p.m. at the school district offices, 685 E. Jack London Blvd. It is being held by the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women.

The forum for the Pleasanton school board race will be held Sept. 30 in the board room at the Advertisementschool district offices, 4665 Bernal Ave. The event starts at 7 p.m. and is being put on by the League of Women Voters, the Pleasanton PTA Council and the American Association of University Women.

The final forum, for Pleasanton City Council and mayoral candidates, will be held Oct. 8 at the council chambers, 200 Old Bernal Ave. The City Council candidates will be first at 7 p.m., followed by the mayoral candidates at 8 p.m. The event is being put on by the League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women.
